New Entrants joining before 30 July 2007
If you joined the Northern Ireland Civil Service before 30 July 2007 you have a choice of pensions.
You can choose from either;
- premium; or
- partnership
As a permanent member of staff you will be automatically enrolled into the premium arrangement on joining the NICS, however you will have three months to tell us if you'd prefer a partnership account. If you join the NICS as a casual member of staff you have 3 months to tell us if you want a Partnership Pension Account.
Please note that you will not automatically be enrolled for a Partnership Pension Account. You must tell us if you want one. Even if employed on a casual basis, a Partnership Pension Account doesn't have to cost you anything, your employer will make contributions for you based on your age.
