Benefits for dependants
nuvos pension scheme
Benefits for dependants
- What happens if I die in service?
- Does my wife or husband get a pension?
- I’m not married but I have a partner
- Will my children get a pension?
We will pay a sum of twice your pay to a person (or persons) you have nominated to us.
nuvos will pay your surviving wife, husband or civil partner a pension for the rest of their life. We will work this out as 37.5% of the pension you have built up to the date of your death plus some extra pension if you die in service.
We will increase their pension every year in line with the increase in the Retail Price Index (RPI).
If neither you nor your partner is married to anyone else, nuvos may pay your partner a pension. We will work this out in the same way as the pension for a husband, wife or civil partner. You must make sure that you and your partner complete a declaration form, as the scheme cannot pay a pension without this.
nuvos will pay a pension to your children and to any other children dependant on you at your death. Children’s pensions are paid to children up to the age of 18 (or up to age 23, if they are in full-time education).
